Consult Direct's Environmental Policy
Consult Direct believes that as we all have an impact on the environment we all need to change our working practices to reduce our carbon footprint. We encourage innovation and ideas to continuously improve our environmental impact both within the organisation and when providing our services to Client’s.
Aims:
- Comply with applicable environmental legislation and relevant codes of practice
- Monitor our carbon footprint and offset carbon emissions
- Reduce waste and recycle
- Efficient energy usage
- Continually improve our environmental performance
- Annually review and update our policy distributing to consultants, clients and suppliers
- Fully integrate our consultants in environmental matters
- Influence others in the supply chain wherever possible
Principles:
Enhance our activities that have a direct impact on the environment and that we can control. Influence and educate others to improve their carbon footprint by setting an example in the following areas:
Work Environments:
- Reduction in use of energy sources for heating / cooling, lighting & water consumption
- Extend the use of electronic documentation
- Where printing is required, printed documentation to be double-sided/duplex to reduce paper consumption
- Recycle paper, glass and plastics
- Use reusable cups and crockery instead of plastic disposable
- Recycle, reuse or donate electronic equipment no longer required
Travel:
- Encourage walking, cycling, public transport & car sharing.
- Use public transport where possible when on company business
- Discourage flying using alternative modes of public transport or use teleconferencing.
- Where flying is essential, we aim to offset the carbon emissions compensating for the flight
- We support flexible working practices and working from home
Environmental engagement
All of Consult Direct Limited’s team are responsible for ensuring that this policy is implemented. Members of the team are involved in reviewing and extending the policy and in discussing any specific matters that may have arisen. Ways to improve our carbon footprint are always actively encouraged.
